The great thing about forums and onlinecommunities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss about lots of things about the niche that you represent or offer.  Another great advantage is that you know what you’re getting into and you’ll be prepared.

My Advice: Unless those communities are filled with like-minded individuals who’s primary goal is link-building, excluding reciprocal link building, then you should stay away because more often than not, you’ll waste your life away on those forums and potentially lose your Adsense account due to over-zealous clicking by your forum pals.

Common Advice: You can also make use of newsletters. Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertainingarticles.

If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter andadvocateit to other people. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic.

My Advice: Ask yourself how many newsletters you have read lately? Fact is, everyone is fatigued of reading this crap and unless you have already built up a solide following, or have something absolutelyrevolutionary to sell, forget about it.

Common Advice: Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent.

All you’ve to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, the efforts both sites do will benefit both sites. Every traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link of your site and visit your site as well. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche.

MyAdvice: In essence, what the above advice is telling you to go out and spam webmasters, and the fact is ‘No One Likes A Spammer’. Not to mention that the time you put into this form of link building is not worth shit because more often than not, it will be a reciprocal blogroll link, instead of the coveted in-post link.

Common Advice: Write articles that could pique the attention of people that have interest in your product.

Try writing articles that’ll provide tips and guides to other aficionados. Writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs.

My Advice: There are millions, possibly billions of articles on the net, what makes you think yours is special? Get over this BS of writing great content, because unless you’re on the top of the SERPS no one will find you. Common Advice: Write good content for your site. Many search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they’re used. It is not a requirementthat a content should be done by a professional content writer. You could do your on but you have to make content for your site that’s entertaining as well as informational. It should provide certainstipulations as well as great quality.

Generally, Internet users use search engines to find what they’re looking for. Search engines in return use keyword searching in aiding their search results. With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without the costs.

My Advice: The above advice is impossible for so many reasons if you are an Internet Marketer. Since, Internet Marketers work in bulk, you need to rely on different forms of articles on your sites and that means that quality will suffer. Another reason that the above advice is not sound is that, once again, unless you are on page one of Google, no one will ever see your incredibly cool and witty posts.

Exchanging links is still very popular and many bloggers still insist on spamming other webmasters with the hope of getting a link exchange. But let’s be clear on this, reciprocal link exchanges are of very little benefit to you. This is mainly true because Google is looking for sites that have one way links from other sites. One way links are the best types of links to get because it tells Google that someone enjoyed the content on your site enough to post your link. Unlike a link exchange that tells Google that you are in fact trying to game the system by creating as many backlinks as possible. If you are going to exchange links with other webmasters, it is recommended that you attempt to get to avoid reciprocal links and instead incorporate two or more of your sites to create links. That means that one of your sites will link to the other person’s site and their site will lead to different one of yours. But that’s not all, when exchanging links with other sites make sure that they are both in the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic.

Traffic Exchange

Traffic exchanges like Entrecard of no value to anyone, for many reasons. First, the type of visitor that you are getting to your site is interested in one and one thing only, clicking on your entrecard banner. That means that they are not genuinely interested in clicking your Adsense ads, and that more often than not will leave just as quickly as they arrived. Unless you have time to kill, stay away from Online Communities or Forums unless they are there to help with things like keyword selection, optimization, site optimization and other tips that are important to get the most out of Adsense ads. Otherwise, these online Forums tend to be time wasting places that people go to waste their time when they could have been doing more productive things like creating new sites, content or backlinks.
