The above, in a nutshell, will work with most affiliate marketing or contextual advertisements. That said, you still need to ensure that you continue to work the backlinks in order to get your site onto page one of Google for your selected keyword.

O.K, so that’s it in a nutshell, but how do the Internet Marketers make money online with free web traffic from the comfort of their own homes? The answer is based on a level of trust. I’m not referring to internet scams as mentioned in the previous post, what I’m referring to is a good old fashion honest sales relationships. In essence, you need to build a rapport with your visitors in order to sell them something. In fact, you are doing your site visitors a favor by providing them with useful tools that have helped you. In my example, I have full faith in the FreeTrafficSystem that you see at the top right of this site, mainly because it is a free service and it actually get’s you free backlinks from other people’s blogs. But you can sell almost anything as long as you have developed trust with your site visitors.

There are many Internet Marketers out there who make all their money selling stuff to their site visitors. Using free website traffic from search engines like Google or Yahoo, these Web Marketers are able to convert a small percentage of their visitors into paying customers. Most of these Web Marketers do it in one of two ways, either they outright lie to the site visitors,  telling them all sorts of non-truths and half-truths, or they are genuine people who have used the product and have faith in the product. In turn, their belief in the product they sell is enough to convince their site visitors into purchasing that product.

Let me make a side note, if you really want to make money online, you need to be reputable. Making money at home with free website traffic is doable, but you need to know which path that you want to develop. Either way, it all starts with solid web traffic from the search engines.

Internet marketers make money on volume and A-listers make money on the unwary sheep that meander into those seemingly fertile pastures.

The first thing that you need to know if you want to make money online is that you need Google Search Engine traffic, there is no debating this point, because you either get Google Traffic or waste your life away following the herd into Social Traffic damnation. If you’ve been around long enough, you’ll know that social traffic is useless traffic and worse of all, it’s a lot of work chasing social traffic like Digg and all the others. If at any point in your blogging you start seeing the light and realize that Internet Marketing is where the money’s at, then you’ll soon realize that it’s all about quantity and not quality, so sorry to be the one telling you this.

If you want to make money online, you need to think in terms of volume, stop wasting your time creating the perfect blog in search of fame and fortune, because it won’t work. There is absolutely no money in blogging unless your plan is to lure sheep into your site and hit them upside the head with your e-book. But remember, there are millions of other A-list wannabees who are already much further down that ugly road to perdition than you are, and they are making very little from their misadventure.

The secret to making money online is Volume.

It’s all about numbers, Internet marketers are banking on small amounts of monies per blog times hundreds and even thousands. That’s it in a nutshell, you need to see your blog as a place where you can make 50 cents to 1 dollar per day and then quantify the hell out of it. And no, you don’t need to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to do this, all you need is to go to places like blogger.com and start opening up free, keyword optimized blogs, and throw some links at them. If you do your research, starting by reviewing some of the tips that i’ve already outlined on this site, then you will be well on your way. The easiest way to generate quality links back to your site is by utilizing free resources available online like freetrafficsystem, one of the few too good to be true link building systems on the net that actually perform by giving you exactly what they offer, totally free backlinks with no strings attached.

The funny thing is that most of you will disregard everything i’ve written and head back over to Darren Rowse’s problogger or other useless places like that hoping to get a drop of that magic elixer that they’re offering over there. If you smarten up and stop listening to the A-List bloggers now, you will save yourself many months of pain, but as they say, we only learn from our mistakes and I’m sure you’re no different.

On the other hand, if you are serious about making money online, then wise up and stop checking your stats every 10 seconds, and get cracking on creating as many sites as possible. Hubpages has become a popular destination for the quick money, but you’ll need hundreds of hubpages. On the other hand, if you want to start cornering a number of solid keywords in a specific niche, then blogger.com is the place to do it. For those of you with some money to spend, consider hosting your own blogs, think add-on domains.

O.K, that’s it for today, I’ve given you enough good stuff in this post alone, and for those of you with some understanding of how Internet Marketing works, you’ll know what I speak, for the rest of you, stop wasting your time and run from the A-List websites like John Cow and company because contrary to what they tell you, they are not your friends.

In this post I hope to enlighten you in some of the techniques I use in order to improving traffic to website. Many so called Internet Marketers out there would charge you a lot of money for this information, but out of the kindness of my heart, I will give this away for free. I think most of you have already been ripped off enough, and I don’t want to add to the casualties of Internet Marketing.

First of all, if you want to start improving the quality of your website traffic, you need to change your mindset. What I mean by this is you need to start thinking of yourself as an Internet Marketer and not a blogger. This shift in thinking alone will propel you forward. When I first changed hats and became an Internet Marketer as opposed to a blogger, I created a little saying to keep me focused. “Bloggers Make Friends, Internet Marketers make money!” You need to ask yourself, and be totally honest, do you want to share your wisdom with the world, meaning adding your voice to the billions of other voices out there, or do you want to make money? If you answered the former, then I suggest you leave, because this site is quite frankly, not for you. On the other hand, if you said the latter, keep reading.

The second thing that you need to know, to improve web site traffic to your existing site is the following. Before I tell you this secret, let me emphasize, this is possibly the most important thing that you’ll ever read if you are moving over from the world of blogger to IM. You need to make every post count. You need to make every post count, meaning that everything that you write must be researched thoroughly even before you type a single word. What this means is that you need to know which keywords to  target, the keyword value, number of searches per month on chosen keyword, keyword competition. Researching your keyword should in-depth, in fact, you should be spending as much time researching keywords as you do generating backlinks.

Improving the quality of the website traffic to your site involves a carefully planned strategy. Let’s suppose that you have a site dedicated to blue widgets and you wanted to write a post about how to use blue widgets. The first thing you need to assess is whether there is any traffic or advertisers looking for the keyword or derivatives of the word How To Use Blue Widgets. Plug the keyword in the Google Adword Tool and see what the results for that specific keyword are. If the keyword does not pay at least $1.00 or more per click which is roughly 25 cents and have at least 1500 monthly searches, then look at the Alternative Keywords generated by the Google Adword Tool. Once you have found a keyword that satisfies these criteria, you will do the following. This following step is so important, that it amazes me that people have not clued in. You will take whichever of the derivative or alternative keywords satisfy your chosen criteria and use it in the title of your post. You will also want to use the keyword or similar worded keywords in every paragraph of your post, note: don’t add too many paragraphs, generally, you’ll have 3 – 7 paragraphs in a post depending on the length of your post. As an example, in my title, we’ve got How To Improve Website Traffic, as well as Improving the quality of the website traffic in this paragraph and in the paragraph before this one we’ve got improve web site traffic notice that the word web site are two separate words. In the paragraph before that one, we’ve got keyword improving the quality of your website traffic and before that we’ve got the keyword improving traffic to website. My experience is that rewording keywords like this helps Google better understand the meaning of your posts as well as helping Adsense put up more appropriate ads.

Once you’ve chosen your keyword, you need to run a regular Google Search Query in order to see which sites are competing for that keyword. Using a tool like SEOQuake, you will get an immediate idea of the page rank of the sites competing for that respective keyword. As a general rule, you want to see page rank 3 to page rank 0 on the first query page of Google. That means if you see Page Rank 4 and above, you are going to have a more difficult time getting onto page 1 for your selected keyword and that means that you will not be able to improve website traffic as easily as you would normally. Another thing that you need to do is to read the posts from the sites that are on Google page 1 for that respective keyword. This doesn’t mean stealing their post, I am absolutely against plagiarism and if you are involved in blackhat seo you will get caught. What I mean is that you want to get an idea of their keyword selection, in-title and in-post usage as well as any other terms that may act as a helper keyword.

The final thing you need to do in order to improve website traffic is to create your posts intellegently and work on your backlinks. The above information is incredibly powerful stuff and it works very will. How you use this information to make money online is the key to your success as an Internet Marketer.

When I first started out on the Internet, I thought that making money online would be an easy thing to do. Perhaps your story is the same as mine. I purchased a hosting service, chose a domain name and started writing posts. In my quest to making money online with website traffic, I ignored my instinct which was telling me that social traffic was not making me any money online and kept plugging away at it. Let me tell you, there is a whole world of social traffic groups who have been permanently lost in cyberspace due to their fanaticism in chasing social traffic. Eventually, seeing no financial rewards for all my hard work, I dropped out of all the social sites groups and concentrated on the Search Engines.

I think I was more unlucky than most, because although I started optimizing my site for Search Engine Traffic, I had failed to do my homework in getting Search Engine Traffic for high paying keywords. Instead, my site was optimized for worthless keywords that weren’t making me much money with Adsense. At one point, I was ready to get rid of Adsense altogether, I was tired of working my butt off with no rewards.

Perhaps you too made a lot of mistakes in making money with search engine traffic as I did. One thing is for sure, I made more mistakes than most, but if I’ve got one thing working for me is my stubbornness. I kept refusing to give in, knowing that I could make money online with Google Traffic if I just kept learning, and plugging away at it. Eventually, I learned the right methods to make money with Adsense, and kept repeating it until I began to see a steady stream of income. When I think back on how many hours I’ve wasted making all the wrong mistakes, it’s a wonder I didn’t quit sooner, but I’m glad that I kept tweaking my sites for Adsense.

The reason I’ve detailed my experiences is to show you that even someone like me, who made so many, if not all the mistakes in making money with traffic can make money online. but what I’m also attempting to convey is that if you decide to chase social traffic like StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit etc, you too will be wasting your time and resources and eventually learn that there is no money with that type of site traffic.

The question you need to ask yourself is what type of web traffic are you looking for? If all you want is traffic then it’s not hard to do, all you need to do is stumble a few posts and reddit a few more and before you know it, you’ll have more web traffic than you’ll know what to do with. The only problem, as you quickly learn, social traffic does not convert well. Not only will other bloggers not purchase anything from you, you’ll be lucky if they even click any of your ads. Worst of all, Google doesn’t trust Social Traffic as a valid site visitor, meaning that any clicks you do get will be measly 10 cents or less clicks for the most part.

What all this means is that you should do what any smart MMOer does, and that is stop chasing social traffic. Do it now, don’t waste your time with it because it will only eat up your precisous time and the rewards are very little. If you don’t believe me, then by all means, go ahead and chase social traffic for the next few months, you will find out eventually how utter useless this time of website traffic really is.

The traffic that you should be chasing is Search Engine Traffic, this is where the money is. But how do you get Search Engine Traffic, you’ve probably already noticed that it is one of the more difficult things to do. First of all, there are many myths regarding which sites get traffic and which ones don’t. One common misconception is that only the high PR (PageRanked) sites get the traffic. Another misconception is that you only get traffic if your domain is an aged domain. These are just misconceptions and don’t really factor in to the reality of search engines as much as you would think.

First of all, if High PR sites were really the only sites that reached page 1 of google for a specific keyword, then it would stand to reason that all of the sites on page 1 of Google are high page ranked sites. The fact is that most of the sites on Google Page 1 for their respective keyword are not High Ranking Sites. The second myth relating to aged websites getting all the traffic. This one isn’t as cut and dry as the high page rank site, but it is still something to consider. First, you do not need an aged site to rank well, but that’s not to say that there is no value in a well aged site. It’s been my experience that Google put more weight on older domains, but that doesn’t mean that you are automatically guaranteed a page 1 rank because of it. Think about it this way, if you have a well aged site and work the SEO side of it, and get all the right backlinks you may end up outranking a newer domain. But here’s the real issue, most website owners know nothing about SEO, and in fact, the older the domain the more likely that the site owner has either already lost touch with Search Engine Optimization or lost his or her site years ago. That’s right, many well aged websites today can be purchased for a small fee from webmasters who have given up on the Make Money Online business because they have made no money at it.

Does that mean that PageRank and an Aged site are useless? No, it doesn’t mean that, and in fact a High Page rank site will often be in a top position for single word keywords. There are a number of reasons for this, but it’s often due to these sites having the funds to purchase professional SEO services from large marketing networks. That means that, even if you wanted to take over the keyword ‘Credit Card’, there’s no chance in hell that you’ll do it.  And even if you manage to get on to page 1 for the keyword ‘Credit Card’ chances are you won’t stay on page 1 for very long because the big players will find a way to get you off of page 1.

Getting Search Engine Traffic is all about choosing the right keyword with the right level of competition and creating enough targeted backlinks over a number of months in order to get Google To Trust you, it’s as easy as that. But remember, if the keyword has a very small click value, it isn’t worth going after. We’ll look into keyword selection in the next few posts in order to help you generate more Search Engine Traffic.

But first, you may be wondering why search engine traffic is more important than say social traffic, like the traffic that comes from Digg or Reddit, for example. There are numerous reasons, but it all boils down to one important factor, the Google Adwords Advertiser. Think about it this way, if you’re advertising through your Adwords account, who do you think would constitute the best potential buyer for you product, a person coming in from a social network or someone typing your keywords into a search query? In order to answer this question intelligently, you need to know what type of person uses the social networks versus those who use Search engine queries. People who use social networks usually fall into two main groups, bloggers and people with nothing better to do than waste hours of their time moving from one site to another, and neither one of these groups of people are online to purchase anything from anyone. Think about the blogger for example, all he or she is concerned with is either finding stories to post on their own sites, or look for sites to link with, not a buyer. The other group of people who are just online, bored with nothing to do but meander from site to site, are too easily distracted, and any interest they may have in a product will soon dissipate with the click of the mouse button. Either way you slice it, neither one of these groups of people are particularly liked by Google or Google’s main source of income, the Google Advertiser. So what ends up happening, on the chance that someone visiting your site from one of these social sites happens to click on your google ad, you will get only a small fraction of the payout that you would from someone searching for your keyword through a search engine query.

To make a long story short, in order to make money online you need to right type of visitor on your site and therefore you need to know how to attract the right visitor. Getting back to how to get free Internet traffic, it’s then a safe enough bet that I want you to focus on Search Engine traffic and not the social blogs. Ok, so now you know which visitors you want on your site, but you come to the next dilemma, how to get a piece of that search engine traffic.

Getting Search Engine traffic can be one of the hardest things you can try, especially if you are new to blogging. There are Internet Marketers out there who don’t need to worry about getting search engine traffic because they tend to have a long list blogs they own, and contacts they’ve made, as well as having the funds to afford a linkbuilding service subscription. For those of you just starting out, this is obviously not the case and you will have to battle it out for each link you get, or do you?

If you want to get free Internet traffic you will need to start doing a few things. First, stop social bloggin, you’re wasting your time and probably making no money doing it. The next thing you need to do is find a Niche that has profitable keywords that are easy to rank on page one of Google. This is the difficult part, because you need to do a lot of research to find the right keyword for you. I’ll talk more about keywords in later posts, but for today, I’ll just assume that you already have your chosen keyword and are just looking to getting backlinks for it from related sites for free.
